WorldTeach is a well-established NGO founded in 1986 by a group of Harvard students who were motivated by the desire to promote education at the local level in places where teachers and resources were lacking. Each year, we send about 500 volunteers, impassioned by that same desire, to the local schools and the host communities in developing countries around the world that have specifically requested our support. Since our inception, we have placed over 6,000 volunteers, providing them with teacher training, language preparation, and field support, empowering them to affect lasting change on the community they work with so that their influence will survive their experience.
We currently offer full-year and semester programs in American Samoa, Bangladesh, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guyana, India, Marshall Islands, Micronesia (Kosrae and Pohnpei), Namibia, Panama, Tanzania, and Thailand. We also offer 2-month summer programs in China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Namibia, Poland and South Africa. Fully and partially funded programs available for year-long and semester programs.
