Missionary Cenacle Volunteers: Since 1916, the Missionary Cenacle Volunteers have been "Helping Catholics Become Apostles" through faith-based voluntary service, for long-term (nin+ months, for 21+ year olds) and summer (one week+ for 18+ year olds) service terms. Our volunteers serve throughout the US and (if Spanish speaking) in Central America. Volunteers work on our missions with Missionary Cenacle Family members and others, while participating in community life and an active prayer life. The Missionary Cenacle Family is a Catholic missionary family devoted to fostering the vocation of the laity to become apostles, by growing spiritually while serving God and others among the spiritually abandoned and materially poor in such ministries as: parish/youth ministry, health care, education, social work, teaching, building maintenance, cooking, religious education, clerical/office work, child care, teacher's aide, working with elderly, homeless, and persons with physical and developmental disabilities. Our Trinita summer family program lies in the beautiful mountains of western Connecticut. For two - six weeks we need young and adult Catholics (couples included) to share their gifts of faith, fellowship, music, arts and crafts, laughter, and recreation to provide a rewarding faith experience for disadvantaged inner-city families from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. For long-term service you will receive housing, food, health insurance and a small monthly stipend for personal expenses. Room and board is provided for our summer sites. All applicants go through a background check and criminal history search; an offending background could negatively impact an applicant's chances of acceptance into the program.
